My Obsessions
I love to dance. I don't know why. I remember vaguely someone taking pity on me a long time ago and teaching me the latest dance moves to bring me up to date, but I'm fairly certain I've always had natural rhythm. I love to learn new styles of dance, especially when there aer strong natural drum beats behind it. Cuban/Latin beats are my favorites. A close second is anything with a 'sultry' rhythm.
Fleurs de Lys
This is, I think, mostly due to my historical reenactment interests. My understanding relates the fleur-de-lys with French culture/history. I like French (always have) and I am part French - technically Acadienne, but this is my page and I choose not to get really picky. It's also a shared obsession with a few others so it's fun to see whose fleur radar is stronger.
Peacocks
The peacock became one of my obsessions after viewing Dangerous Beauty (a movie based loosely around the story of Veronica Franco, foremost courtesan of Venice in the 16th Century) and falling in love with it. In the movie is a line, "a peacock does not an inheritance make," which I have put into my repertoire of quotes. The other reason is that I love to dress up, and when I do I go all out whenever possible. A few people noticed and dubbed me the 'peacock'.
Cats
I've always loved cats, particularly black ones. I was nicknamed Mistress Kat (because Cat was already taken) by a friend in my final year of high school. "Kat stuck, as I'm sure you've figured out. Peoplesay I share several traits with cats including preening and watching a room before entering it.
Strawberries
No explanation needed on this one. Watch me eat them sometime. Just watch out if there's chocolate involved, too.
