Valerie - Costumer

I learned to sew at an early age, but made my first costume when I was 18. I still have it, to remind myself of just how bad it was historically, but was (and still is) incredibly comfortable.

I found the renaissance faire at 18, and the SCA at 19. I found belly-dance around the same time. I make costumes for all. Occasionally I take the time to do the hand-embroidery required. Also, I tend to try and make my own jewelry. Though it's time-consuming it is a major joy to hear the compliments and respect from those that are admiring the finished pieces.
